About Al-Nassr Football ClubAl-Nassr Football Club (Al-Nassr FC, referred to as Al-Nassr), is a football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Founded on October 24, 1955, it currently competes in the Saudi Professional League, with its home stadium at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh. ![]() Team HistoryAl-Nassr Football Club was established in 1955 and officially registered and recognized in 1956, becoming one of the earliest football clubs founded in Saudi Arabia. In 1976, Al-Nassr joined Saudi Arabia's first nationwide football league. After several seasons of development, Al-Nassr gradually emerged, winning its first major trophy—the King's Cup—in 1981. During the 1990s, led by Saudi Arabia's "Golden Trio," Al-Nassr claimed 2 league titles, 1 Saudi King's Cup, 1 Saudi Federation Cup, as well as 1 Asian Cup Winners' Cup and 1 Asian Super Cup. In the 2013-14 season, Al-Nassr not only won the Saudi top-flight football league title but also defeated city rival Al-Hilal Football Club 2-1 in the Crown Prince Cup final. In the 2020-21 season, Al-Nassr successfully defended the Saudi Super Cup title, but under new coach Mano Menezes, their league ranking slipped to 6th. However, in the 2021-22 season, the appointment of Miguel Ángel Russo helped Al-Nassr return to the top 3 of the league. On December 31, 2022, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo joined the team, signing a contract until 2025. On August 2, 2023, Sadio Mané joined Al-Nassr, with a contract until 2027. On May 28, 2024, the 2023/24 Saudi Professional League concluded, and Al-Nassr finished as runners-up. ![]() Team AchievementIn its history, Al-Nassr Football Club has won the Saudi Professional League title 9 times and the Saudi Cup 6 times. |
