Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club (full name: Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club; abbreviation: Al-Ahli SFC) was founded on March 17, 1937, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Team History

In the 1968/69, 1969/70, and 1970/71 seasons, Al-Ahli SFC won three consecutive Saudi King’s Cup titles. The team claimed the Saudi King’s Cup again in the 1972/73 season. During the 1976/77, 1977/78, and 1978/79 seasons, Al-Ahli SFC secured their second streak of three consecutive Saudi King’s Cup titles in club history. In the 1977/78 season, they won the Saudi Professional League title for the first time. In the 1982/83 season, Al-Ahli SFC lifted the Saudi King’s Cup again after a four-season gap. The 1983/84 season saw the club win the Saudi Professional League title for the second time in its history.

In June 2023, Mendy joined the team; in July, Firmino and Mahrez signed for the club.

Team Achievements

On May 24, 2024, in the 33rd round of the 2023-24 Saudi Professional League, Al-Ahli SFC played out a 0-0 away draw against Al-Taawoun, securing third place with one round to spare. On May 28, in the final round of the 2023-24 Saudi League, Al-Ahli SFC defeated Al-Fayha 1-0 at home, finishing the season with 65 points in third place. In July, Al-Ahli SFC loaned out Allan Saint-Maximin and Malcom. In August, Alexandre Christian Gomes da Costa and Ivan Toney transferred to the club. On November 26, in the 5th round of the AFC Champions Elite League, Al-Ahli SFC defeated defending champions Al Ain 2-1 away, becoming the first team to qualify for the knockout stage after a five-match winning streak. In May 2025, the club defeated Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 to win the 2024-25 AFC Champions Elite League title.
