Gil Marín expressed his hope that Álvarez would stay at Atlético Madrid, yet added he would consider alternative solutions if the player harboured doubts — on the condition that he is not transferred to Barcelona.
The player must deliver his response within the day, choosing to stay at Atlético Madrid or sign for Arsenal.
As Atlético Madrid’s CEO has repeatedly stressed over recent weeks, the club will under no circumstances hold transfer negotiations with Barcelona regarding the forward.
