According to The Telegraph, Vinicius currently earns approximately £400,000 per week. Arsenal are prepared to offer even more, presenting a landmark contract that would break the club’s wage record to secure the signature of the Brazilian star.

It should be noted that Arsenal aim to maximise their chances of landing Vinicius. Information obtained by The Telegraph suggests finances will not stand in the way of the club’s pursuit. Mikel Arteta views Vinicius as a transformative signing for the squad.

Real Madrid’s newly appointed head coach José Mourinho is unwilling to lose any of his star players. However, Mourinho’s position could become complicated, as Arsenal intend to explore every possible avenue to sign Vinicius, whose contract has only 12 months remaining. Arteta hopes to push the team to new heights following last season’s Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Earlier this year, Arsenal rewarded Bukayo Saka with a contract worth roughly £365,000 per week with incremental pay rises, sending out a clear message. Arteta aims to retain the squad that ended Arsenal’s 22-year wait for a league title and build upon that success.

Vinicius is a two-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, and his appeal is undeniable. Although Arsenal boast quality wide players, with Bukayo Saka standing out among them, there is unquestionably room for further improvement. Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been continuously evaluating potential targets.

There has been no formal contact between Arsenal and Real Madrid at board level. More broadly, news of Arsenal’s interest in Vinicius has caused ripples in Madrid, as Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez rarely allows elite players of such calibre to depart while still at the peak of their powers.
